Stoneleigh Golf & Country Club
When people think of beautiful golf communities in Loudoun, a handful of names come to mind: Raspberry Falls, River Creek, Belmont Country Club... even Lansdowne! But, Western Loudoun has only one Golf Course Community, and that's Stoneleigh Golf & Country Club.
Homes for sale in Stoneleigh Golf & Country Club in Round Hill, VA are few and far between and that's because once somebody finds this place, they never want to leave!!! And for good reason! This gorgeous community offers great Country Club amenities like their tennis courts, pool, golf, and club house... but it's situated in Western Loudoun County, in the middle of wide open spaces surrounded by wineries, breweries and farm land! Check out the video below I put together at the end of 2022, including flyover drone footage of the neighborhood its amenities and some nearby attractions.
At the edge of the Shenandoah mountains, the entire area is nothing but beautiful panoramic views. And if the neighborhood views aren't enough for you, you are just minutes from places like Bear Chase Brewing, Dirt Farm Brewery, Bluemont Vineyard or Twin Oaks Tavern Winery (to name just a few).
But, just ten minutes in the other direction and you're in Purcellville for all your shopping needs. And with ZERO lights between you and Dulles airport, it's only a 30 minute drive to catch a flight!
And as if you aren't surrounded by enough nature, you can truly connect with the outdoors by taking a hike on the iconic Appalachian Trail just five minutes from the entrance. This section of the Appalachian Trail is widely considered the most beautiful section of the entire 2,000 mile long trail. Raven Rocks is one of my favorite hikes, just 2 1/2 miles from the entrance at the top of Route 7.
And head just 2 more minutes beyond the Appalachian Trail and you are at the Shenandoah River! Watermelon Park is just a few miles south of Route 7 on the Shenandoah River and offers a great spot for fishing, tubing, camping or just spending the day outside by the river.
Stoneleigh itself opened in 1992, and each home is unique. You'll not find cookie cutter homes here, as they come in all sizes and shapes from French Provincial to Cape Cod and just about everything in between. Homes are typically between 3,500 to 5,500 square feet, though there are some very large homes here at almost 10,000 square feet! And while most homes are on about an acre, some homes are on more than four acres of land.
HOA dues are relatively low here, but they do not include access to the Golf Course and Country Club amenities. Instead, owners can choose to join as part of a membership. There are multiple membership levels ranging from a "Social Membership", which gest you access to the pool, tennis courts, Tavern and social events to a full membership, which gets unlimited golf and other perks also.
The community here does have its own swim team for the kids, and my kids actually swam out here during one of the swim meets hosted by Stoneleigh! And you don't have to live in Stoneleigh to have a membership here, though it does help.
And as I mentioned earlier, homes for sale here are few and far between. In the second half of 2022, only 3 homes were sold and we saw similar results in 2023. With only 143 total homes, if you are looking to move here, your best bet is to setup an automated search on my website. And if you're looking to sell here, definitely give me a call! I'd love to be your Realtor! I probably have a list of buyers already looking for properties in this neighborhood!
