With all the buzz about Prince Harry and Meghan moving, I thought I'd put together my list of why Leesburg is the Best Place to Live in Virginia! I'm limiting my statement to Virginia, but I would argue that Leesburg might be one of the best places to live in the world for most people!
Top 11 Reasons Leesburg is the Best Place to Live in Virginia
11. Jobs! We have one of the best job markets in the country, and Amazon actually selected Northern Virginia for its HQ2, about a 45-minute commute from Leesburg!
10. Charities! We have a lot of charities that are headquartered in this region, from global to local and everything in between!
9. Sports Teams! Hockey, Baseball, Soccer, our teams are winners. We have a football team too, and sometimes they make it to the playoffs! LOL. And we actually have our own professional rugby and soccer stadium right here in Loudoun County at Segra Field with Old Glory Professional Rugby and Loudoun United FC! 7. More airports! And right here in Leesburg, we have Leesburg Executive Airport, which is more for corporate or private planes!
6. Horses! Loudoun is horse country! With Morven Park right outside Leesburg (less than a mile), you have Polo in the Park, as well as multiple steeple chase events.
5. Skiing! Yes, Leesburg is a Ski Town! With 3 resorts within 90 minutes of Leesburg that are part of the Epic ski system, you have options! And 4th and 5th graders ski free!
4. Healthy Lifestyles! In addition to tons of biking and running, it seems like half the people I know here do yoga now and there are yoga studios all over the place! Did I mention I do yoga?
3. Hiking! Leesburg is less than an hour from the Appalachian Trail! If you aren't familiar with the AT, go read a Walk in the Woods! Or now you can watch the movie too! In addition to the AT, we have tons of trails like the W&OD that you can bike all the way to DC if you want, and the C&O canal, 180 miles of path right across the river from us!
2. Public Schools! The Academy of Science is here, and Loudoun County Public Schools are some of the best in the country!
1. Wineries and Breweries! Loudoun is Wine Country! We have over 50 wineries and breweries in Loudoun County! And the live music scene is tremendous, with most of these places having live music and food trucks every weekend! Check out my LocoFest post for a great example!
So there you have it. Leesburg is clearly the Best Place to Live in Virginia! I might be a bit biased since I raised my family here and am a Realtor here too! But, I truly believe it! I love it here!
